This weekend, I am enjoying having my niece (aka...Mary Alice, Jr.) stay with me. Last night, she once again asked me if I was ever going to get married. My response was, "If I got married, I couldn't do all the things I do with you and other kids!"
Last night was another great example of how much fun it is to be a Mare-Mare! Haley Hickingbotham (Lisa's daughter) was voted in as 9th grade basketball homecoming maid. Let me just tell you... she looked mahhhveloussss!
As Lisa was helping Haley get dressed, all I could think of was "we are getting old!" I am sure that Lisa's mind was overwhelmed with memories of HER mom doing the same thing 23+ years ago.
Growing older isn't all that bad. Growing fat, on the other hand, and having the aches that go with age, is what bothers me!
