Today was an exciting day for Makenzie Hope Sikes! Last week, Makenzie made a profession of faith in Jesus and asked Him to be Lord and Savior of her life. Today, Bro. Paul McClung, pastor of First Baptist Church of Sherwood, baptized Makenzie!
Makenzie is afraid of going under the water, so Bro. Paul handled it perfectly. He presented her to the church and then gently turned her around where the congregation couldn't see her, and did a mini-dunk!
After the service, Makenzie's daddy brought her up to the balcony to see her Mare-Mare. I got a quick hug and an "I love you" before she went back downstairs to sit with her mother and rest of the family.
Makenzie and I are now forever bonded in the family of Christ! That makes a Mare-Mare so happy... even to the point of good tears. I sure do love my Makenzie!
